I know it's been a few days lol
been a little busy
let me start off by saying I'm doing very well
God has blessed me.
Boy has He blessed me.
I was reading a book called extraordinary which has me thinking a lot about faith, and it also has helped me in the way that I pray lately. Faith is the substance of things hope for the evidence of things not seen(Hebrews 11:1).
That word evidence says that faith requires something physical. Evidence is what is used in court to convict someone or prove them innocent, and without it we really have no case;therefore, faith requires action. Faith requires something to be seen in those who claim to have faith. When we claim Christ yet don't live by His word then we say we trust Him but come up empty on the evidence. We fail to produce fruit consistent with the trees we say we are. However when we claim Christ and we follow His word, which requires knowing His word, we prove our faith.
The word of God is not simply full of commands, but it is full of His promises. He shows us His faithfulness throughout His word, and not only does He say He is faithful, He proves that He is faithful. God has always proven Himself to be faithful and true, because He backs up what He says He is going to do; likewise, we as His children must prove ourselves to be faithful by providing evidence of our faith.
We can choose to doubt or be faithful. Doubting like being faithful is an action. Unlike the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, faith. Doubt is the deficiency of things hope for, and the lack of evidence of things not seen. Doubt isn't always bad, but when doubt comes between us and God's word it is dangerous. Just listen to how I described it as a deficiency. That already sounds dangerous. Doubt being the action of not trusting robs us of the abundance of life that God has for us in many situations of our lives. John 10:10 says the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but I have come so that you(we) might have life and have it abundantly. That is Jesus speaking right there. Doubt when it comes to Christ robs us so we know it is from Satan.
How do we combat doubt? We combat it simply with faith. Now as I said earlier faith in God requires knowing God's word and who He is. We have to know His voice in order to know when He is calling because if we don't know His voice we will end up falling for anything. Knowing Him is very vital to combatting doubt. I'm reminded of Jesus in the wilderness as Satan tempts Him with food after having not eaten for days, as He was on a fast. Satan tempts Christ with His own power to turn the rocks into stone, but Christ had God's word in His heart and He didn't fall and break His fast there, but instead He replied to Satan saying "IT IS WRITTEN:Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Check out the first part of that statement. It is written. This shows that Christ has God's word in His heart. Now don't get me wrong I know and understand Jesus is the word become flesh, but He is also the one who dwells within us and empowers us to live as He does.
With all of these things on my mind I just have to stop and pray that God would help me when I'm in the face of doubt. When I have to choose between being faithful, or being doubtful. What God has brought to my mind makes me want to know Him more and more, so that I may have evidence that I have faith and so that I would be able to glorify Him more and more.
real faith will come through
when we make a move
